Speedy Freight enjoys the position of the UK Logistics Provider for a well-known Norwegian furniture manufacturer. The challenges of transporting furniture across countries and thousands of miles may have posed an issue to another courier company – but not Speedy Freight, whose expertise and expansive fleet saw the company rise to the challenge, not once, not twice, but on a repeated contract basis. 

 

The Client 

Speedy Freight manages the UK logistics distribution for a Norwegian-based furniture manufacturer supplying 165 independent retailers across the UK, ROI and Channel Island.

 

The Challenges  

The challenges of moving furniture over borders, across seas and over land were many. The team, however, took every precaution to ensure that nothing would interrupt their dedicated delivery of each item of furniture to its regional distributor. 

 

The Consignment

In partnership with Eddie Stobart Logistic Warehousing, Speedy Freight manages the inbound container flows, consolidation and onward delivery to stores across the UK. With huge bulk consignments required to be delivered, Speedy Freight made sure that sufficient vehicles, perfect for the client’s needs, were always on hand – with enough drivers to continue international logistics.

 

The Conclusion 

Now 12 months into the 3-year contract, the experienced Speedy Freight team have managed to reduce the supply chain costs for the manufacturer by more than 35%. In addition,  thanks to the exceptionally high levels of service provided by the courier, Speedy Freight have now been commissioned to launch the brand-new white-glove home delivery service for the manufacturer.
